We are Hayven. Hay Farming, Horses, and Harmony

A sanctuary where history, horsemanship, and nature live in harmony. On over 300 acres, we provide a calm, serene place where horses and their humans thrive

This is Hayven

Where the past whispers, the present breathes, and the future grows.

A Land Shaped by Time

Hayven is a place where history, horses, and the quiet rhythms of the land come together beneath ancient oaks draped with Spanish moss. From the rolling fields that provide hay and sustenance to the forests that form the cover for wildlife, Hayven is the culmination of a lifelong dream for a lifelong rider, carefully planned, chosen, and cultivated to sustain balance, peace, and harmony.

Long before Hayven became a boutique dressage facility and sanctuary, this land carried another story. It once formed part of the open ranges settled and worked by Christopher Columbus “Kit” Rooks, one of the pioneering cattlemen who helped shape this corner of Florida. The Rooks family ran cattle across these sweeping hills, tending vast herds beneath the same moss-draped branches that move above us today.

From Open Range to Private Farm & Sanctuary

Cattle hooves once beat trails over this soil. Today, it is the hoofbeats of horses, the whisper of deer at dusk, and the flutter of owls taking flight.

The legacy remains, but the rhythm has changed. At Hayven, we honor the past by preserving the land’s natural spirit. We continue to farm the land while staying dedicated to preserving it in its entirety, as a large, beautiful piece of Citrus County's past, present, and future.

Stewardship, Serenity, and Space to Breathe

This is a place where horses are allowed to be horses, with shady turnouts, rolling pastures, miles of trails, and space to breathe. It is a place where wildlife finds refuge and where stewardship and serenity guide everything we do.

Honoring Yesterday. Protecting Tomorrow

The story of Hayven is not only about where we are today, but where we come from and where we are going.

We walk gently here, mindful that every pasture, every bale of hay, and every trail beneath the oaks is part of a legacy that began long before us.

Caring for this land is our way of honoring those who came before and safeguarding what will remain for generations to come.
